I had a minor mishap with ubuntu on my work laptop recently, I’d been putting off the upgrade to a more recent version of ubuntu for so long when I got the dreaded “your version is no longer supported” message from the updater. So I decided to do a manual dist-upgrade to 10.10, suffice it to say skipping two distro versions was unlikely to work cleanly and it didn’t.
So I now have a fresh 10.10 install and really am quite impressed. So far everything works well and is stable. It boots a good amount faster too. I only had one evening of ‘no laptop’ so work has not been compromised either. Well done ubuntu guys. I like it 🙂
